I go down to the motor trade office to see about updating my subscription and found out that I need to reapply all over again. I ask why do I have to do this, and the response I get is that they periodically have to do this to keep there records updated and current. I guess I could understand why this would be a requirement, but it sure it annoying to have to write everything down all over again. They proceed to tell me that it is more for the new insurance group that they just partnered with. Not to mention a lot easier for the driving instructors to look up past students thatthey have had in the past.

I am so nervous, I am taking my 16 year old daughter out for a driving lesson. I did not want to be the one to teach her how to drive. My ex-husband was suppose to teach her, but he had an accident and he broke his leg. Now he can't take her out, so it is my job now. Besides the classic car that my dad have given me a few years back as a birthday present, I will have to teach her in my Toyota truck. This truck isn't in the best of shape, but it is what we have to work with, it will have to due.

I have always loved music and had always gone to music festivals at any chance that i was given but as always the problem was always getting the transport to go as i never drove at the time but i knew that if i was to keep going to the festivals then i would be better off if i had my very own transport. I had never really thought about or been very interested in driving before but after constantly having so much trouble i decided that now was as better a chance as any. I had always wanted a motorbike myself but the terrain of the festivals was never really the terrain that you would want to be riding a motorbike on so i settled for a van which my dad had promised me for when i passed my driving practical test. I had been in a local rock band for quite a while now and had always dreamed of touring with the rest of the band so i knew a van would be the best option for us to get around to the places that we would be playing in at the time.

I was a martial arts teacher for as long as I could remember, my students depended on me to learn so be some what defensive as best as they could. I was all about teaching self defense in any situation, it was good work and proud work to do, to think that a simple lesson could help a person grow is a great joy, I no some may say that I am not a doctor and don't save lives everyday but when you think about it, maybe I do. If you can not defend yourself you may just face a situation one day that will rob you of your life, that's a scary thought so I make sure my students are prepared as best as they can be for whatever life brings to them next. One thing about myself that I neglect to tell my students is I never managed to pass in a driving school. I took a driving practice test but in the end I did not apply myself enough and it ended badly for me, I was so disappointed and gave up straight away, of course I regret that now but I was thinking recently that here I am teaching my students about life and to be brave and I still did not face my fear of driving to finally pass at a driving school.

I am amazed by how fast my stories are being approved! Not 20 minutes later, the story I just wrote has been included in my balance, and I'm off to write another one so that I can keep ahead! What's changed? Why the faster rate of approval? I know I'm talking to a brick wall, so far it seems, but I'm still quite curious.

Published Wednesday, 26th Aug 11:24 BST

For two years working as civil engineer for a UK based company, among the lucky people from the office, I was one of those who were chosen to go abroad for a project which cost roughly about Two Million US dollars. It’s a pretty large scale of money. However, since we are not used to right hand driving (the country we are bound to go drives right side) , we all have to practice driving on the right side. Though the company will pay for the expenses, each one of us has to go through canvassing for various driving lessons prices. Our supervisor gave us a week to collect all our printouts and my complete list of the canvassed driving lessons prices. On our regular Monday meeting, he asked us one by one which school we want to go and what are the range of driving lessons prices per area. We need to comply for the requirement to test ourselves with right hand driving before we can leave the country. “Not to mention, these driving lessons prices list we have here varies a lot than that of the country you are going to stay for at least three months”, he added. And so all twenty of us flew to this country where I am now. It was never easy doing it the first time. I mean, driving your car when the driver’s seat used to be passenger’s. Plus the fact that the road is on the opposite side. There was even at least three times when I was on the left side of the road. Good thing, not much cars are on the road then. As part of our routine job, do the designs while you are in the office, go to the field when you are required (or when the project manager calls you for some sort of problem they cannot put a solution), it was just last week when we had to do a visit at one of our biggest project. We were about to turn left when suddenly a 10 wheeler lorry (truck, which I thought was a passenger bus at first) coming from out of nowhere cut our way. All of us (almost five engineers), immediately got out of our SUV (which I’m not driving), so terrified and checked ourselves. It was a miracle none of us got any single scratch! The hgv driver (heavy goods vehicle) was so mad, defensive and accused us of over speeding. Good thing our driver is a local so he can speak the language better. He truck driver even had the gut the ask what insurance group our company has. We all went to the police station and gave our individual statement. It turned out the hgv driver was drinking while driving. I was so thankful I called my family right away. It feels like the Gods have given me another chance to live. Because if you check out or car, you will wonder how we are all able to survive the accident.

I've been to Hawaii a few times. Love the place. It's exactly what the ads say it is. I have also been to Honduras. My parents wanted me to have varied and exciting experiences, and I think they did exceedingly well with that. I am grateful for having gone to those places. Unfortunately, money is harder to come by, now.

Published Tuesday, 25th Aug 08:00 BST

Did you ever consider taking driving lessons? I am considering it right now. I am currently 31 years old, and I always thought I was a great driver up until recently. You see, I was in a crash. The crash was all my fault. I had always poked fun at young drivers, because they never watch where they are going. They are always on their cell phones talking or texting, or just laughing with thier friends that are riding with them. They never pay attention to the road, their own car, and other cars. It really scares me. But today, I am seeing things a little differently. The crash that was all my fault went a little something like this. I was driving down Eighth Street like I always do on my way home from work. Just then, I spotted some oddly dressed people on the side of the road. There were three of them and one was a man. The other two were women. They seemed to be wearing what looked like mummy outfits, but it was not time for Halloween. I was so freaked out by them that I had to call my best friend and tell her all about it. That is when I rear ended the car in front of me because I was trying to dial the phone and not pay attention to the road. It was so bad and there was so much force involved that my hood poppedopen and exposed my motor. After exchanging insurance information and feeling terrible, I realized that I had become like the young drivers I always make fun of. I feel like I need to pay more attention now, and I think driving lessons will help me out with that. Now, all I need to do is find a place where I can take driving lessons. I don't know any places and I don't know anyone who has been to driving lessons before. So, I turn to the trusty yellow pages phone book to come up with some answers. I found a place and gave them a call. They explained to me what all would be involved with the course, and it all sounded great to me. It sounded great until they got to the cost of the lessons. It was outrageous. I will just have to pay more attention next time I drive because there is no way I am going to pay for that unless it is court ordered.

Published Tuesday, 25th Aug 06:32 BST

My friendused to haveher driving lessons with 'driving school uk'.She is a very sensible person,so everyone assumed she would be a safe driver.'Driving school uk' taught her well, and she mastered the basics quickly. Her instructor said that she was one of the best students he had had. She was a fast learner, very safety conscious, and had a natural talent for reversing around corners. My friend had no car at home to practice with, and the only car she had ever driven was the 'driving school uk' one. This didn't bother her, as she knew that when she got a car of her own, she would get used to it very quickly. The driving school uk car was a duel control one, so the instructor could stop the car if he needed to, but my friends instructor had never been forced to break for her. One day, as she was nearing her test, she decided she needed more practice. She could not have any more lessons with her driving instructor that week, as he was all booked up. She took a chance and decided to drive her Mum's car around a bit while her parents were out. She wasn't insured on this car, but she told herself that it didn't matter. "As long as no one stops me, no one will know I'm not insured, and as long as I don't do anything stupid like speeding or crashing, thenI won't draw the attention of the Police." She smiled to herself as she got into her Mums car, and was slightly surprised to find that it felt different. The bite was higher, some controls such as headlights were in different places, andthe gears were harder to get into place. She went round the block a few times to get used to it, and then when she was confident, she went out onto the main road. She was driving along perfectly happily. Everything was going fine, and she was used to the car now. Her confidence grew as she did perfect manoeuvre after perfect manoeuvre, and she was sure she would pass her test first time. Then it happened. She was nearing a junction, thinking all these positive thoughts, when suddenly a bike appeared. The bike was being ridden by two teenagers. One boy was riding the bike, while another was standing on the pegs on the back wheel, holding onto his friends shoulders. The bike came hurtling round the corner, into the side road that my friend was in, on her side of the road. The split second that she saw the bike, she did an emergency stop. She fought the urge to screw her eye's shut as she saw the car getting closer to the boy's on the bike. They still hadn't noticed the car, as the boy that was pedaling had his head turned talking to his mate. The car didn't stop as quick as her normal emergency stops. This was not her fault, as she did the stop as soon as she saw them. The problem was that the road was very wet, as it had been raining just 10 minutes before. As the car breaks screeched, the boy pedaling turned his head. He saw the car, and put his breaks full on. The bike wheels stopped turning, but the bike continued to slip in the wet. The back wheel came up, the pedaling boy was thrown over the handlebars, and the boy on the back fell off sideways. My friend saw all this happen as if in slow motion. There was nothing she could do. She was stationary by now, and the part of her that wasn't looking on in horror was pleased that she knew it wasn't her fault, she had done the best she could, and she hadn't hit them. The boy that was catapulted over the bike handlebars, flew towards the car. My friend closed her eyes, and after a loud bang she opened them. What she saw next caused her to faint. That was a few weeks ago, and my friend is stillbeing held by the Police. There were no witnesses to the accident, and my friend is having a hard time proving that she didn't hit the bike. The boy that hit her car died. His neck snapped as he hit the windshield with such a force that the glass cracked. The other boy escaped with a broken arm. I know my friend was innocent. She knows she was innocent, but she was driving without insurance or a licence. If she had not gone out that day, the boy may not have died. She drove perfectly sensibly and safely, but she is still consumed by guilt every night about what she has done. Never drive without insurance or a licence. It doesn't matter how safe you are - if another road user causes you to have an accident, you will have a very hard time convincing the police it wasn't you. driving without a licence or insurance is illegal. Learn from my friend.

Choosing to be an authorized driving instructor can become a rewarding

Published Monday, 24th Aug 22:55 BST

Choosing to be an authorized driving instructor can become a rewarding career if you can pass the driving instructor test that is also given. An aspiring driving instructor must first seek to be trained and must take driving instructor courses. Like applying for a driver's license there are certain requirements that an instructor must first equip himself with. First he should have a full UK or European Union / European Economic Area unrestricted car driving licence, held for at least four years; and one have not been disqualified from driving at any time in the four years before you train. The ability to read a car number plate at a distance of 27.5 metres (90 feet) and to be a 'fit and proper' person, in the opinion of the DSA. These are some of the things one should look after before they can apply for one.

Driving School UK were delighted and I had been so happy with the instruction they gave me.

My sister divulged to me her love of big rigs and how shelonged tobecome an hgv driver one day. I asked her why she didn't enrol for a driving lessons course but she merely shrugged her shoulders and said they would never accept a female so why try. I looked at her incredulously and replied that we were no longer living in the dark ages, women have the same opportunities as men and there is no reason whatsoever as to why she couldn't take a driving lessons course, if not to prove that women were highly capable of managing a large truck and trailer unit as well as any man. Despite my reassurances she was adamant that she would never become an hgv driver and it was all a pipe-dream.

When my dad taught me how to drive when I was a teenager, he taught me on an automatic and it was inour family van. It was hard then, but I was just learning. I wish that I would have learned on a stick shift instead. Because then I would know how to drive both. My parents enrolled me in a few automatic driving schools while I was in high school. They were great for my self-esteem and eveneasier onthe car. Automatic driving schools are good, except I think when a person is first learning to drive, that they should learn the harder way first, so it won't be that hard to learn later. And if you can drive stick shift, it would be a piece of cake to learn automatic.

Its always been my dream to drive my own car. Of course, before I can do that I need to enroll myself in a driving school and take classes. There are just few schools who offers this course. Some people would prefer to learn by someone who knows how to drive to save money. Aside from that, they are more comfortable and at ease if the driving instructor is their friend or family. No need to worry about your driving classes that you need to catch and stressful exams in your driving school. Others would choose the safest way by enrolling themselves to schools with driving course. Either way, the objective is to learn how to drive. Whether its in driving school or not, if you really want to learn driving, you can!

I was one of those boys growing up who you would think that their bmx bike was an extension of themselves, I never went anywhere without my bike. When I was growing up the local people round where we lived were trying to bring the community spirit back into the community it has gone ever since some of the older boys had set fire to the community hall, now instead of the community hall was a playground and a basket ball court. The elders had decided that they would enroll the help of the local lads and get them to help build a bmx course on the waste area by the playground, all us lads thought it was a great idea and many days over the whole school holidays myself and my mates would help move earth and dirt and get the mounds right for all the jumps.

Oh how I loved to find cheap driving lessons. I actually found some really cheap driving lessons on the internet. I was not sure if the lessons would be as good, especially because I had not visited the place where they did a motor trade and gave you lessons but if they were cheap driving lessons, then that was all that mattered because I was not bothered about FANTASTIC lessons, as long as they were reasonable and cheap driving lessons. I was a little scared when I first ever went to my first driving lesson. But, once I met my instructor and had my first hour with him, it was great! and, I did not even stall which was good because my dad had made a deal with me that if I did not stall he would give me fifty pounds so I was pretty chuffed!. I had many lessons and they were all just fantastic. I seemed to learn really quickly and I knew for a fact I was doing well because my instructor seemed to be very impressed which was a good bonus. I loved my lessons and I knew I could not wait to drive and I knew it was just going to be absolutely brilliant because I would be able to go anywhere I liked. To be honest, I was not even nervous about my driving test because I was feeling very very confident and in fact, I was more nervous about my online test because this was more of a mental challenge and I was better at the physical side of things. I had to wait a while to see if I had passed my online test and it was brilliant when I found out that I had passed with flying colours and was ready to take my driving test. This was the day I knew for a fact I would be getting my licence because I knew I was just a natural when it came to driving. Sure enough, I passed again with flying colours and it was a great moment when the examiner gave me my licence which made me very very pleased indeed. I decided to celebrate with a meal out with my friends and then hitting a few bars in the city centre. I did remember though that I could not drive that night because drink and driving is just a no go.

The want ad was very appealing, especially since even cheap driving lessons were priced too high for me to afford. I didn't really understand how the course was going to work, and I surely didn't see how an online test could measure my ability to drive, but I was willing to give it a try. I called the number on the want ad, and as luck would have it, I got the last remaining spot in the first course.

A few summers ago I took my driver's test to get my license for the motorcycle I was planning on getting. I was a terribly slow learner so my friend said that I should look into getting taking a driving crash course. At first I was a bit wary, because the words "Driving Crash Course", should in my opinion never be used together! But she assured me that it wasn't what I was thinking. A driving crash course is a set of lessons and practices specifically tailored to the learner driver's ability, or in my case, lack thereof.

Published Thursday, 6th Aug 01:20 BST

Back when I was single, a moped would suit my needs for transportation. It was small and light and provided a quick and cheap way to get around to places. But now, I am married and my wife is expecting her first child in around two months. Therefore, I need to buy van in order to carry our future children around to the places they need to go. However, I have never driven a van before so I had to learn how to so our children will be safe while I am driving. I decided to take driving lessons to learn how to drive a van. I checked the driving lessons prices on the internet and I signed up for the cheapest one. During the lesson, they taught me how to drive the van and showed me the safety features, and extras one can get in a van. After I graduated from the driving lesson, I went and looked for a van to buy at my local car dealer. They had many different types in many different colors. My budget was only ten thousand pounds so I had to choose carefully and wisely. I did not want to buy one that would break down in a week nor did I want to buy one that was not safe. I found a nice van for seven thousand five hundred pounds which had dual front airbags, seat belts, a rolling cage to absorb shock in the event of a crash, air conditioning, radio, a five disc Cd player, leather seats, alloy wheels, and a decent fuel economy. I decided that this was the best value I could get with coming under budget so I talked to my salesperson and bought the van. So far, I've been happy with it and now that my children are born I am glad that I bought it. The convenience it gives is very nice and I am able to carry much more than what I was able to carry with my moped. Also it is safe and comfortable. After using this van for a while I do not think I will be going back to my moped.
