Working in the motor trade, I needed to be able to drive to move the cars around on site. I had already failed my driving test once and needed to get my insurance premium down from the high charges of a provisional licence.

I needed a new driving instructor and did an internet search for driving school uk to find a local driving instructor to help me pass my driving test and enable me to take my job in the motor trade further.

My driving instructor was really patient with me, which was a good job as I could never get my left and right correct when learning and he ended up writing on my hands so I knew which was which. This was quite embarrassing as I was nearly 25!

Whilst learning to drive, I found out about another job within the motor trade that I would be able to apply for as long as I had passed my test. This job had much better prospects and as an added bonus, paid much more. So, I booked more lessons and concentrated really hard. I pleaded with my instructor to put me forward for my test, I would pass it and he made me wait another two weeks and eight lessons, then I applied for my test.

On the day of my driving test I had hardly slept and was so nervous my legs wouldn't stop shaking, I didn't know how I was going to control the clutch!

As I was taking the test in my car, I had to show the examiner a valid insurance certificate as well as my provisional licence. We then moved towards my car.

I read a number plate and then had to lift the bonnet to show I knew the basics of the engine, then we were off. The test lasted 35 minutes and seemed to go really quickly as I talked all the way through it to try to control my nerves. When we got back, I found out I had passed my driving test with very little to fault and also I had the new job as I now had my licence.

This was a good job, as the extra income would help with my car insurance which didn't go down in price at all.
