I am so nervous, I am taking my 16 year old daughter out for a driving lesson. I did not want to be the one to teach her how to drive. My ex-husband was suppose to teach her, but he had an accident and he broke his leg. Now he can't take her out, so it is my job now. Besides the classic car that my dad have given me a few years back as a birthday present, I will have to teach her in my Toyota truck. This truck isn't in the best of shape, but it is what we have to work with, it will have to due.

I told my daughter before I took out on the road, I wanted her to take the driving online test first to see where she needed the most help. This has really help me to see where her strong points are and where she needs the most guidance. She wanted to take her scooter out to get some practice first, but I told her she needed to start right away with my truck. She needs to get used to it, and when she does, I am sure that she will do great.

So the day comes that her first driving lesson is here. I make sure that the night before the driving lesson, that she gets plenty of sleep. The last thing that I need is a very sleepy teenager at the wheel. She seemed to be very alert and very excited to get started. She also didn't seem as nervous as I thought she was going to be. She was as cool as a cucumber. That surprised me a bit, and actually I was very impressed. She seemed to be very mature about it.

So her first driving lesson starts out very well. She did everything right. She made sure that all the mirrors where in the right places for her to see all around the truck. She started the truck and pulled out of the driveway like a pro. When we started down the street, she stopped at the stop sign with such ease, it made me look like an amateur. I asked her if she has done this before and she said of course not. I guess she is just a natural. She will be a great driver. I couldn't be more relieved or more proud of her.
